Alfresco Kitchens

The outdoor kitchen continues to change dramatically; the segment is dynamic and has really evolved over the last 5 years since Alfresco Kitchens began designing building and installing outdoor kitchens here in Perth.

The outdoor kitchen has evolved to the extent that we are now seeing levels of sophistication, styling and functionality surpassing many indoor kitchens.

Clients are incorporating wash up facilities (sink, with a significant growth in the numbers of dishwashers also) refrigeration and of course extremely versatile cooking systems. The BBQ appliances available today all have the capability of roasting with convection oven cooking taking off over the last few years. As we see the outdoor kitchen become more sophisticated, users are becoming far more adventurous in whipping up new dishes not previously attempted or thought of in the outdoor area. A powerful side wok burner is a must, to complement roasting, baking, pizza, BBQ, and complete the cooking capability of the outdoor kitchen to include deep frying, stir frys etc.

Glass door refrigeration is fashionable, natural stone bench tops and splash backs also are in vogue, providing stunning long lasting goods looks to the outdoor kitchen. They are also popular as many incorporate matching bench top to internal kitchen to try to diminish the lines between internal and external living spaces.

Under-bench ovens are another item increasingly finding its niche in the outdoor kitchen. Ovens can provide the flexibility to oven cook and BBQ at the same time enabling a wider selection of menu and to entertain for larger numbers of guests. Storage capacity requirements are also increasing as many tend now to use the outdoor kitchen far more often than the BBQ of yesteryear, and for longer periods throughout the year. (Outdoor kitchens have taken out the seasonality associated with a BBQ event).

Materials utilised in the construction of an outdoor kitchen need to be carefully selected, keeping in mind condensation and exposure to elements can create havoc if internal kitchen materials are used. Lots to think about in the world of Alfresco kitchens!

Brett's Beds & Futons have been manufacturing beds in WA for 25 years.

We use sustainably grown timber and Australian Cotton. We make a range of Solid Jarrah/Marri one piece headboards. We source these unique pieces from local farmers who obtain the slabs from their properties.

All of our beds are modular in construction, which means you can create your own from our full range of headboards, bases, legs and mattresses. They are all available in Single, King Single, Double, Queen or King Sizes, if you need a custom size we can also make to order.

Australia's very first fibreglass swimming pool and spa unit, the Dual Zone from Jadan Spas Warehouse Direct, has just become the very first fibreglass range of swimming pool and spa units, with the recent release of the Dual Zone 8 – at stand 318.

The Dual Zone 8 is two metres longer than the original Dual Zone, offering a 5.9m swimming length as well as a separate 2m by 2m spa. This single unit contains all you need for a relaxing spa as well a generous space for swimming and exercising. Each section can be set at a different temperature so swimmers are able to enjoy a cool, refreshing swim followed by a nice, warm spa.
